West Ham United right-back Ryan Fredericks could be set for a long spell on the sidelines, that is according to club insider @ExWHUemployee.
The 27-year-old only recently returned to the team against Brighton & Hove Albion after missing four Premier League matches in January with a hamstring injury, but he was withdrawn after 60 minutes of their game against Manchester City on Wednesday after falling on his shoulder (Transfermarkt).
According to @ExWHUemployee, the initial thought was that he hadn’t picked up a serious injury, but after having a scan they now believe that he could be out for a while.
That means that they will have play someone else at right-back and although Pablo Zabaleta is their other senior option in that position, it seems that many fans would prefer David Moyes to give young Jeremy Ngakia a chance. The 19-year-old has come through the club’s academy and recently made his first-team debut against Liverpool back in January (Transfermarkt). With Fredericks looking likely to be out, these fans want him to be thrown back into the team.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…

Seriously, just throw Ngakia in there, we cannot honestly do any worse can we, and everyone’s always banging on about giving the youth a try.
