A lot of West Ham United fans are reminiscing about Andy Carroll after highlights of his hat-trick against Arsenal back in 2016 were posted on Twitter.
The English striker came away with the match ball in a dramatic 3-3 draw against the Gunners at Upton Park. He brought the scores level with two goals just before half time and then gave the Hammers a 3-2 lead in the 52nd minute, but they couldn’t hold on as Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny equalised twenty minutes before the final whistle, via BBC Sport.
The forward made 142 appearances in East London, scoring 34 times whilst providing 17 assists, but his career was plagued by injuries which caused him to miss 151 matches during his West Ham career, via Transfermarkt. Fans have been wondering what could have been, with one saying he “was unstoppable at times.”
After being released by the Irons, Carroll now finds himself back at fellow Premier League side Newcastle United, but he is yet to score this season, per Transfermarkt.
