As reported by Essex Live, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has disclosed that he hopes to have defender Winston Reid available for the first game after the international break this month against Tottenham.
It’s certainly come as good news for our resident Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern who worried their best defender was going to be out for longer than that.
Reid picked up a hamstring strain towards the end of the 2-0 loss at Everton last week and will miss out on his country’s World Cup Qualifiers in the next week, but should be ready for Spurs.
The defender was set to miss out this weekend’s home game against Stoke City anyway due to picking up five yellow cards after his latest against the Toffees, so it seems to be very much best case scenario for the Hammers.
The Croatian manager said: “Hopefully he is going to be OK for Spurs after the international break.”
West Ham are currently 17th in the Premier League table and are three points away from the top half of the table.
