A lot of West Ham fans have gone to Twitter to speak about former midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate after a post showed footage of his goal against Swansea back in April 2017.
Many miss the Senegalese player and feel like they should not have sold him to London rivals Crystal Palace in July 2018 for around £9.63 million, via Transfermarkt.
The long range strike from the player sealed a 1-0 victory for the Hammers against the Swans at the London Stadium, via BBC Sport, causing one fan to tweet out asking: “Anyone else miss him?”
The replies poured in praising the defensive midfielder who is a consistent starter at his new side, via Transfermarkt. and five positions above his old club in the Premier League table, per BBC Sport.
For the Eagles, Kouyate is averaging two tackles and one interception per game, per WhoScored, and someone who gets stuck in like this might have been a great shield for a Hammers defence that has leaked 50 goals in England’s top flight this campaign. This is the third most in the league, per SofaScore.
Here is what fans had to say about the former Iron:

Yep. Think he got made a scapegoat by the fans when I really don’t think he deserved a lot of the criticism. Was one of our most consistent players for 3-4 years or so
