A lot of West Ham United fans are very pleased to see that the club have made a statement via Twitter confirming that David Moyes, the board and the players are taking a series of measures to ensure non-playing staff will be paid 100% of their salary, whilst fans and the local community are still supported.
The club have stated, per West Ham, that: “West Ham United can confirm that a series of measures – led by the Board, first-team players and the manager – have today been agreed to ensure the Club can continue to support our staff, fans and local community through this difficult time.”
This good gesture during very difficult times which has caused football to be postponed across the globe has given fans of the Irons something to smile about and also has made them proud of the board, who they normally have a very complicated relationship with, via The Daily Mail.
West Ham correspondent at Football.London Sam Inkersole understands that manager David Moyes has taken a 30% pay cut, whilst all the footballers at the club are deferring a percentage of their salary and joint-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold and Karren Brady are deferring interest on loans.
