According to an update by Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg, West Ham United have had a bid rejected by Club Brugge for attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken – with Belgian outlet HLN claiming the valuation of the bid was around £13.6 million.

Vanaken, who stands at a lofty 6ft 4, is reportedly on the Hammers’ target list as David Moyes attempts to strengthen in any way possible ahead of a gruelling and congested 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

The 28-year-old played six matches in the Champions League last season, scoring against Real Madrid in the process, and he has already bagged four goals and two assists in just seven Jupiler Pro League starts for his club.

Vanaken, yes or no West Ham fans?

Yes, take him every day

Given his slender market valuation and West Ham’s need for come creative impetus in the final third, Vanaken has emerged as a real target – but David Sullivan and David Gold will seemingly have to increase their offer to land him.

Flocking to discuss this update on social media, many Hammers has mixed opinions over the attacker and their club’s transfer strategy ahead of the looming October 5th deadline.
