West Ham United: Fans react as club make late move for Fikayo Tomori

It seems like West Ham United are looking to make a late move for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori following the latest reports, and a lot of the Hammers fan base have been responding on Twitter.

According to @ExWHUemployee, the English centre-back is the latest transfer target of the Irons after they failed to acquire James Tarkowski, Craig Dawson and Jonathan Tah. However it remains to be seen as to whether they can finalise a move, which would most likely be a loan, before the deadline this evening.

He would be a decent acquisition as he managed on average 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 2.8 clearances in his 15 Premier League appearances under Frank Lampard last season, via WhoScored.

He is also only 22 years-old, and looks to be showing glimpses that he has the potential to become a consistently solid Premier League player. Some of the Irons fan base seem happy with the news, but plenty believe a loan deal would stunt the growth of their own academy players, and if he comes good then they will have to look for a replacement when he returns to Chelsea anyway.
