Many West Ham United fans are reacting to the latest transfer news surrounding the club about a possible Premier League player joining the Irons.
According to The Sun, the Irons want Rob Holding on a loan deal, and they are willing to pay £5 million to loan him for the season. Hammers manager David Moyes desperately wants a centre-back, and this latest link suggests that they are struggling to get hold of Burnley defender James Tarkowski.
He played 18 times in all competitions last season for Arsenal, with eight of those coming in the Premier League, per Transfermarkt. The price they are willing to pay for a loan looks like a bad decision, especially when he is only valued at £8.55 million on Transfermarkt.
He didn’t play too well in his eight appearances in the division as he managed on average 0.5 tackles and 0.6 interceptions per game, via WhoScored. This, plus the fact that the club reportedly want to pay £5 million to have him for just one season makes the transfer look like questionable business.
A lot of the Hammers fan base are both not happy and not believing the report, with many taking to Twitter to express their thoughts.
Here is what fans are saying following the news:
