West Ham manager David Moyes was talking in a press conference as the club prepare for their next game, which is a London derby against Chelsea, and a lot of fans aren’t reacting well to his latest comments.
The Hammers now sit 17th and are level on points with AFC Bournemouth in 18th and Aston Villa in 19th, per BBC Sport. Moyes’ side have to play Villa on the last day of the season, but first they have a lot of hard fixtures in between including the upcoming game against the Blues.
Speaking to the media, Moyes said, via journalist Sam Inkersole on Twitter: “I want to build a new history. I’ve got lots of thoughts on where I could take the club if I get the chance.”
It is good that he has future plans for the club and is not just looking short-term, however due to the results since his return, many Hammers fans have reacted badly to the comments with one joking over what he has said by tweeting: “Is the Championship one of them?”
So far this season, the Scotsman has managed 14 games and only won three of those fixtures, with him being in charge of nine losses and 2 draws in all competitions, per Transfermarkt. This highlights that the current criticism is quite fair, but Moyes will be hoping he can impress in the remaining fixtures and keep hold of his job for the 2020/21 campaign.
