West Ham United are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, that is according to journalist Nicolo Schira. Indeed, it is thought that the Serie A giants aren’t keen on selling the 25-year-old, but the Hammers would be keen to bring the player in on loan.
A central midfielder seems to be one of David Moyes’ priorities in this transfer window. Indeed they have already been linked with plenty of players in that position including Gedson Fernandes (Sky Sports), Joe Allen (Express) and Sander Berge (Daily Mail).
But it seems that they could now have another target in mind in Gagliardini. The Italian international has been in and out of the Inter team this season and has started just nine of their 19 games in Serie A (Transfermarkt) so it could be that they allow him out on loan to give him more game time.
However, plenty of Hammers fans aren’t impressed by the rumour. Many of them have used it as an opportunity to once again criticise owners David Gold and David Sullivan due to the fact that they are trying to get another player on loan, rather than actually buying their own players.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
what a joke our club is…just pay up @davidgold

Can’t believe our incompetent owners want to loan every player but Don’t want to buy the player by paying the fees, it’ll break the fans heart if we go down this season they don’t deserve this..
