According to journalist Alan Nixon of The Sun, Ligue 1 giants Marseille ‘will do a deal‘ to sell Morgan Sanson to the right club – with the reporter also claiming that an ‘auction has begun’ for the Frenchman as West Ham United eye his January signing.
Nixon broke the news of West Ham’s interest in Sanson very recently, writing in a piece on Saturday indicating that GSB and David Moyes are ‘ready’ to initiate a player-swap deal to bring him to east London (The Sun).

Nixon drops promising West Ham transfer claim
The £25 million-rated star has been a key figure under Andre-Villas Boas ever since the ex-Spurs boss was appointed back in 2019, with the midfielder averaging an impressive 2.2 tackles, 1.4 shots and 1.1 key passes per 90 last season according to WhoScored.
A jack of all trades, Sanson’s evident ability to contribute both in an attacking sense and defensively could be an enticing pull for Moyes – with the Sun claiming he sees the 26-year-old as an heir to club legend Mark Noble.
Indeed, West Ham have apparently identified a replacement midfield ‘leader‘ in Sanson, and Irons supporters could be intrigued by Nixon’s promising claim that Marseille ‘will do a deal’ with a ‘bidding war’ having now commenced.

One Birmingham Mail journalist, via FootballFanCast, described the midfield ace as ‘outstanding‘ in the past whilst comparing him to Wolves mainstay Ruben Neves – and it’s safe to say he has continued in that vain this season, despite missing a portion of it through injury (Transfermarkt).
During the 2020/21 campaign, Sanson has still managed to bag two goals whilst assisting three others for Marseille in just nine starts – all while maintaining his defensive prowess with 1.9 tackles per 90, on average.
If the Irons could land him this month in a potential swap deal with Lanzini, it’s safe to say West Ham will have managed a real coup.
