On Wednesday evening, West Ham United confirmed they have been drawn to play against Oxford United in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
While this would usually be seen as a decent draw, which should give the Hammers a pretty good chance of progression, the announcement caused a bit of frustration this time around:

It turns out that if the last 10 minutes of Oxford’s encounter with Millwall had gone differently, then the men in claret and blue would be facing their bitter rivals.
The Lions had been 2-0 up thanks to two goals from Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, before Mark Sykes scored in the 87th minute, with that then being followed up by a 94th minute penalty by James Henry, which led to the penalty shootout that the men in yellow eventually won.
The last encounter between West Ham and Millwall came in 2012, when the Hammers beat their rivals 2-1 in a Championship match, as per 11v11.
