West Ham did not have a good transfer window and our Hammers fans in the Transfer Tavern are still getting over it.
They expected some big name signings with the move to the new stadium but it appeared that the club missed out on their main targets in most cases, and had to settle for back up options.
As yet, none of them have really come good and whilst it’s still early days they could really do with some decent performances to get them out of their rut.
With only one win to their name so far this season the club are stuck in the relegation zone and look very low on confident, so it could come down to a good January window to try and sort them out.
Our landlord reckons they should go for some former stars to get the fans onside too, and reckons this three would be perfect…
Carlos Tevez

Tevez was top class for West Ham and it’s with them where he really started to show off his ability.
He’d add the stardust the club so desperately need right now and whilst he wouldn’t be as good as he once was, there can be no doubt that he’d still offer more than any of West Ham’s forwards right now.
Javier Mascherano

Mascherano only really started to show what he had to offer once he’d left West Ham for Liverpool but there can be no doubt about his ability now.
He may find himself playing less at Barcelona now with the signing of Samuel Umtiti, and he’d certainly give the Hammers the bite and drive they need in midfield at the moment.
Jermain Defoe

West Ham need goals, Jermain Defoe scores them – it doesn’t get any simpler than that does it?
Wherever he’s been he’s found the net including at West Ham in his earlier career and he may just find the idea of returning to one of his old sides and London too good to turn down, which would be bad news for Sunderland.
