According to The Telegraph, West Ham are willing to listen to any offers that may come in the January transfer window for striker Andy Carroll.
It’s come as news that slightly worries our Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern who think that the big forward can still be a hugely effective presence up top for the club, despite him being injured quite a lot of the time.
Despite that, though, they still see him as their best striker and think that if the club do let him go in January the Hammers must have a good back-up plan to even consider such a move.
That is easier said than done anyway, as the summer window proved.
The Hammers signed the likes of Simone Zaza to help out up top but he has been hugely underwhelming and so any such mistake again, when the window re-opens could prove massively damaging.
The club have struggled for goals this season with them currently lying 17th in the Premier League table, just a point above the relegation zone, and they saw themselves capitulate at Spurs on Saturday to lose 3-2 in the closing minutes.
