It was a quiet January transfer window for the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern. Whilst a few of their Premier League rivals spent big money throughout January, the Lilywhites were relatively quiet – at least until the last few days.
They managed to secure the signing of Lucas Moura as the window began to draw to a close, and that was enough to let our Tottenham locals go home happy.
Indeed, whilst his signing wasn’t met with much acclaim amidst high profile signings like Alexis Sanchez at Man Utd and Olivier Giroud at Chelsea, it’s a move that has all the makings of a successful deal.
Moura was impressive in France last season, and whilst his form this term hasn’t quite been up to par, there aren’t many better than Mauricio Pochettino when it comes to maximising the quality of his individual players.
He’s yet to make his debut for the club, but it appears as though the Tottenham fans over on Twitter are hoping that it will come soon. Though the Brazilian is ineligible to play against Newport County in the FA Cup on Wednesday, he is available against Arsenal on Saturday – and this is when fans want to see him. Of course, games between Arsenal and Tottenham are amongst the biggest of the season, and so it would be quite the way to make a debut.
