The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are still ecstatic with the news that Marcelo Bielsa has been appointed as their new head coach. The contract that Bielsa has signed has made him the highest paid manager in Leeds’ history according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, although the fans have no problems with that.

For Leeds United, getting a manager of the quality of Bielsa is huge. The Argentinian tactician is one of the world’s most renowned and respected gaffers, but with great talent comes a great paycheque. The club have reportedly parted with a sum of £2 million to bring him on board, and he’ll be bringing a large entourage of backroom staff with him as he aims to turn the Whites into a Premier League outfit.
The fans can throw a big thank you in the direction of both Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani as the deal to bring in Bielsa wouldn’t have been possible without them. The fans will now be looking at transfers as the former Argentina boss looks to put his own spin on the Yorkshire club, with the aim of being back in the big time by the end of next season. The club has been outside of England’s top flight for 14 years, the longest spell in their history and next season in the Championship taking that figure to 15 years, the fans will be praying that Bielsa can work his magic.

It will take a couple of days for it to sink in that Leeds have got Bielsa, although for now the Whites will just want the new season to come round as soon as possible.
