The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had a huge amount to shout about this week, though are discussing just how important David De Gea was to keeping them in the game against Chelsea for as long as they were.
Undoubtedly one of the elite ‘stoppers in the world, the Spaniard pulled off some stunning saves to keep the score at a respectable 1-0 and only added to his highlight reel. Still, comments made from reported United target Antoine Griezmann have invoked the ire of our locals recently.
The Frenchman has described teammate Jan Oblak the best ‘keeper in the world, following his heroics between the posts for Los Rojiblancos against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. As you can well imagine, considering De Gea’s popularity amongst our drinkers, they are rather defensive about their Spaniard.
