The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were hoping for a busy few weeks in January…

After all, the Gunners are slipping behind in the title race – with 9 points currently separating them from Chelsea – and a few desperate changes are needed.

Much was made about Arsenal’s lack of incoming players, but it is the lack of outgoings that is concerning the Gunners in the Tavern – with a host of talented, but simply not good enough players currently within the Arsenal squad.

Arsene Wenger has seemingly made it his position to turn nothing into something throughout his career, with a host of young players given a chance only to let the Frenchman down, and this has left a number of twenty-somethings within the Arsenal first team with no real future.

January would have been the perfect time to move them on, and Arsene Wenger should have really made it happen.

With that said, here are 2 players Arsenal should have sold in January…

 Yaya Sanogo

A few of the fans in the Transfer Tavern had forgotten that Sanogo even still played for Arsenal – that says a lot about his current stature within the Gunners’ first team.

Signed in 2013, there was a palpable sense of excitement when he came to the Emirates – but since that time, he has done very little to prove his worth.

This season the forward has yet to feature at any level, and that says a lot about his current standings within the Arsenal first team.

He was worth the risk as a free signing, but it just hasn’t worked out.

 Carl Jenkinson

Carl Jenkinson is a player that the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see make it, but the simple fact is that he is not good enough.

He is never going to get into the Arsenal first team ahead of Hector Bellerin, and unless the Spaniard leaves the club – that isn’t going to change.

At 24-years-old, he is quickly approaching a vital period in his career – and if he wants to make it, a sale needs to be organised sooner, rather than later.
