Why Paul Pogba’s injury could derail Man United’s form in the coming weeks

Manchester United had a successful summer in the transfer market, as Jose Mourinho added numerous players to positions which many believed were much needed following last season.

The signings of Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku are proving already to be top, top players for United, and it’s no surprise they have been key cogs for the Red Devils in their impressive start to the season.

However, this weeks return to Champions League action has delivered what could be a bitter blow to the club, with news Paul Pogba could miss a few weeks with what looks like a minor hamstring injury.

Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that this injury could have a big bearing on the club and derail some of the momentum they have gained so far.

So far this season, Pogba has knocked in two goals and managed three assists, and his presence in the middle of the park has been one of the biggest reasons behind their successful start to the season.

It’s not just his goals and assists though which United will miss. Pogba has a presence about him in the middle which intimidates and scares opposition players into losing the ball and not playing their natural game. He is a player who makes the opposition concerned about him, giving United a distinct advantage going into games.

Luckily United’s fixtures look kind over the next few weeks, but there is every chance that the loss of Pogba could lead to a shock or two in their upcoming games if Ander Herrera or Marouane Fellaini cannot step up to the plate.

United fans, what do you think to Pogba’s injury? Is it a problem? Let us know!
