Wolverhampton Wanderers: Fans react to latest update on Europa League tie

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting to the latest update about their Europa League tie with Olympiacos.

It was revealed earlier this afternoon that the owner of the Greek club, Evangelos Marinakis has contracted Coronavirus. The 52-year-old confirmed the news on his Instagram page, claiming he has followed the orders of doctors, however, as a result of his confirmation, players and staff of the outfit are reportedly in a hospital to get tested (via Express and Star).

This has made Wolves appeal to UEFA over postponing their fixture with their opponents after Marinakis’ confession, according to The Athletic’s Tim Spiers. Wolves have been waiting since the 1971/1972 season to take part in the last-16 of a European competition and it seems as though Covid-19 could keep them waiting a little while longer. Some supporters seemed to be agreeing with the update about the club’s appeal as they took to Twitter to react, whilst others speculated as to what might happen next.
