Sky Sports writer Adam Bate has been praised by a number of Wolves supporters for an article he wrote on defender Ryan Bennett prior to last night’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
When putting the article out on his Twitter channel @ghostgoal, the reporter said that Bennett’s continued presence in the team throughout a period of substantial spending from the club was a credit to him and the coaching he has received.

In his piece about the 29-year-old defender, Bate said: “The step up to the Premier League was supposed to be too much for him. Signings were anticipated and the versatile Leander Dendoncker’s arrival appeared to signal the end. In pre-season, Romain Saiss was used there instead.
“Bennett himself admitted that it was ‘clear’ he was not going to play. But when others struggled to adapt, he retained his place.”
Bennett joined Wolves as a free agent in May 2017 following his release by Norwich and, following last night’s game at Molineux, has now made 78 appearances for the club.
He featured in 34 of their Premier League games last season and has started their first two league matches of the current campaign.
