Wolves’ wait for a first Premier League win of the season goes on after they were subjected to a 2-5 thrashing at home by Chelsea.
On a day when the goals flowed for the visitors, Express & Star writer Joe Edwards was left lamenting Wolves’ defending at Molineux. [via @JoeEdwards_Star]
FT: Wolves 2-5 Chelsea. If Wolves carry on defending like this, that first Premier League win won't come anytime soon. #wwfc

Tammy Abraham was the standout player with a hat-trick for Chelsea, who had taken the lead through Fikayo Tomori and led 3-0 at half-time. [via Express & Star]
Abraham then put the ball into the net at either end and Patrick Cutrone’s late goal clawed back the deficit another bit further, but the three-goal gap was restored in stoppage time by Mason Mount. [via Express & Star]
Romain Saiss and Jesus Vallejo both started in the Wolves defence, with Willy Boly suspended and Ryan Bennett omitted from the matchday squad, but the men at the back had a difficult afternoon, with Edwards writing in the Express & Star that the home side turned in “another dismal defensive display”, dropping into the relegation zone and now conceding 10 goals in the league this season.
These Wolves fans on Twitter seem very concerned about their team’s poor start to the Premier League campaign:

So poor. What’s happened to the our biggest asset; a really strong Defence. I just think everyone is off the pace. Neves hasn’t had a good game yet, Coady struggling and no Doc. Jota also been average the last few games. I am sure it will turn around when players come into form

… If this is a taster of how we’re going to defend this season then we’re going to be scrapping around in the basement trying to secure the 17th spot? #veryworried
