Wolves changed their whole starting 11 for the Carabao Cup fourth round tie against fellow Midlands club Aston Villa on Wednesday, falling to a 2-1 defeat at Villa Park.
The team are in the middle of a congested period of seven games in 23 days, and with them sitting just four points from the Premier league relegation zone but in with a chance of making it though to the Europa League knock-out rounds, they could be forgiven for putting the Carabao Cup bottom of their list of priorities.
However, many Wolves fans were angry at the starting 11 Nuno Espirito Santo put out and were already predicting they’d be beaten before a ball was even kicked. When Wolves’ official Twitter account posted the news, these fans let the club know they’d have loved to see their side embark on a cup run.
