Wolves have enjoyed a very impressive start to the season, sitting sixth in the Premier League, just five points off the Champions League places.
They’ve also secured qualification from their Europa League group with a game to spare, sealing their spot in the last 32.
Their season started back in July as a result of European qualifiers, meaning they’ve played a lot more games than others in England’s top flight.
Adama Traore has come into his own this term, already making 25 appearances and making himself a key member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
His most impressive attribute is his physicality, combining lightning speed with raw power, making him a handful for any defender.
He’s already contributed directly to nine goals, more than double his tally for the whole of last season (via TransferMarkt).
Adama is one of the toughest players to defend against in the league, highlighted by this statistic from Tim Spiers, showing how many times he’s caused an opposition player to be booked.
Number of appearances made by Adama Traore this season: 25
Number of players booked for fouling Adama Traore this season: 21

Here’s how some Wolves fans reacted to that stat:
It’s becoming so cynical and targeted Nuno might even need to point it out in the media. It’s not his style at all, but at some point, one of those challenges will end in ligament damage or worse. It’s clearly a plan of tactical fouling.

He needs more protection or they might cause some serious harm to him

I agree it’s not just Adama. I assume when someone is seriously hurt they MIGHT do something

Needs more protection by refs

Really need to start looking at red cards. It’s becoming a joke and they Really are gonna injure him
