He hasn’t worked.

Sure, there were flashes of brilliance but he hasn’t worked. David Bentley did have a mountain to climb in terms of winning over the fans, but it was hardly the fault of an uncharitable and vocal minority that he didn’t play football better than he did.

The real issue here of course is that he cost a bloody fortune and it will be unrealistic to believe that even the boy Levy can recoup anywhere near the full amount.

Bentley has been occasionally injured, but he’s also been frequently unselected.

Maybe we should have put a skip in the back of opposing teams’ nets.
