The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited at reports linking them with a move for Thomas Lemar…
The Frenchman is one of Europe’s most talented players, and he was a star for Monaco last season. A talented winger, he would add to an already very interesting crop of offensive players currently plying their trade at Anfield.
Rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt, any move for Lemar would be likely to eclipse that fee, with his quality clear for all to see.
Liverpool have been reluctant to spend big in recent years, but the capture of Naby Keita has hinted that their outlook on transfers is beginning to change. As a result, they could be willing to spend big on the winger, and that – according to our landlord – would be a very wise decision.
With that said, here are 2 reasons why Liverpool simply must try and sign £27m-rated attacker – agreed?
World Class

There’s no doubt about it, Thomas Lemar is amongst Europe’s best attacking midfielders.
Providing 9 goals and 10 assists last season, Lemar was as important as the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Tiemoue Bakayoko at Monaco – and he would undoubtedly hold his own at Anfield.
An expert at set pieces, Lemar provides pace, technical skill and a remarkable engine. In many ways, he is the complete midfielder, and though Liverpool have so much quality in the role, he’d likely come in and eclipse them all.
He’s on course for another good season this year.
Coutinho Replacement

It’s a topic that most Liverpool fans don’t want to think about, but they must be realistic. The future of Philippe Coutinho remains uncertain.
The Brazilian was the subject of a lot of speculation over the summer, and it seems likely that his suitors are only going to increase as time goes on.
Klopp must prepare for what is beginning to look like an inevitability, and Lemar would be a great replacement.
An attack of Mane, Salah and Lemar is frightening, with or without Coutinho.
