It hasn’t been a pleasant time for the Nottingham Forest supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern, with the Reds having one just once in the last ten league games and plummeting further down the Championship table with each negative result.
Some of the club’s supporters who have been present here in the Tavern over the course of the campaign have begun to call for boss Philippe Montanier to be sacked, although with a pending takeover hanging over the club it doesn’t seem likely to happen any time soon.
It had been hoped the Forest could challenge in the top half this season yet performances this season indicate that it might be a while before they do such a thing.
January really cannot come soon enough for the Reds and Tavern writer Lee Clarke looks at three players, all valued under £20 million, Montanier should look to sign during the next transfer window.
Matty James

The central midfielder is massively out of favour at Leicester City and he would be a class signing for any club in the Sky Bet Championship.
James hasn’t featured regularly for the Foxes for some time now, with a move likely to be on the cards during the January transfer window.
One Forest supporter is sat with a bottle of Budweiser in his hand here in the Tavern and he thinks James would be a quality addition to the Reds squad.
Jordan Rhodes

The Middlesbrough striker has played just 150 minutes of Premier League football during the current campaign, which for a player of his standard simply isn’t good enough.
Rhodes would be wise to secure a move back to the Championship during the January transfer window and the club’s incoming owners could flex their ambitious muscles with a move for this striker.
One Reds supporter is having a few pints with an old university friend here in the Tavern and he thinks Rhodes up top with Britt Assombalonga would be devastating.
He may be expensive however and transfermarkt.co.uk values the hotshot at £8.5 million.
Bradley Dack

The Gillingham youngster has been impressing in League One for some time now and a move to the Championship looks to take place sooner rather than later.
Dack would be a quality addition to most Championship sides and according to transfermarkt.co.uk he wouldn’t break the bank either, with a valuation of just £850,000 – although Gillingham may ask for slightly more.
The 22-year-old will see his contract run out in 2018 and according to one Forest supporter here in the Tavern he thinks the club should make a move for Dack before anyone else in the division does.
Nottingham Forest supporters, do you fancy these three players playing at the City Ground come January? Who else should the club try and sign? Let us know in the comments below!!!
