It’s a massive game this weekend in the Championship as a high-flying Leeds look to maintain a strong foot hold on the play-offs.

The Yorkshire outfit come up against a Brighton side looking to try and push Newcastle for the title – it’s a must see clash this week at the Transfer Tavern, that’s for sure!

It’s going to be a tough game for both sides this weekend, with it being vital for Leeds to win to ensure they don’t lose ground on rivals Huddersfield in the play-off spots.

Our landlord genuinely thinks the match can swing in Leeds’ favour if they can get their team selection just right.

After a lengthy debate with the resident Leeds United fans in the Tavern, the landlord has compiled an XI that he thinks will dominate the Seagulls on Saturday evening.

It’ll be no easy game but if Monk picks this Leeds XI, Brighton will seriously struggle….

GK: ROBERT GREEN

Green has the type of experience that Leeds need in this situation, having been in the same boat with West Ham as well as playing at the very top by playing for his country.

He may have a mixed reputation, but he’s been superb for Monk’s men this season and been vital in a number of games for Leeds this season.

LB: LUKE AYLING

The former Arsenal and Bristol City defender was a great addition by Monk.

He has been a solid full-back this season.

His pace could help prevent Brighton in this one as they look to put in a solid defensive display.

CB: PONTUS JANSSON

The Swede has been essential in Leeds’ good fortunes.

He was a great loan signing from Torino by Monk, who has also done the smart thing in securing his services on a permanent deal from next season.

He’ll need to be at his very best to stop the impressive Brighton attack.

CB: KYLE BARTLEY

Another great addition to the team by the gaffer.

Bartley has been amazing at the back in his loan spell at the club from Monk’s former team Swansea City.

He must see something in him, with this being the second time he’s signed him to a club he’s managed.

RB: GAETANO BERARDI

The Italian wasn’t first choice at the start of the season, but he’s marked his territory in the side now and has been a regular for a number of months now.

The former Sampdoria defender will have his work cut out with Knockaert, that’s for sure!

CM: LIAM BRIDCUTT

The Leeds captain will want to get one over on his former club in this one and try and help his current team to gain promotion to the big time.

The Scotland international didn’t quite cut it in the Premier League with Sunderland and will be hoping Leeds can help him get to the top.

CM: RONALDO VIEIRA

This lad is destined for great things and not just because of his name sakes!

He has great talent and is still so young – nurtured properly under the guidance of Monk and Leeds and he could develop into a star.

He is for sure one to watch for the future but also very much for the now too; Superb player.

CAM: KEMAR ROOFE

He made such a step up from Oxford United to Leeds and what a player he is showing to be!

He looks at home at Leeds already and Monk has really shown his faith in this lad.

Roofe didn’t have the best start to life at Leeds and struggled at times but now in his role of sitting in the middle just behind the top three, he’s looked superb.

LW: PABLO HERNANDEZ

When we first saw Hernandez arrive in England at Swansea City he set the Premier League alight with some serious talent.

Hernandez’ creativity is excellent and he has a major influence on the Leeds United attacking play.

RW: ALFONSO PEDRAZA

He arrived in January on-loan from Villarreal having featured for them sparsely but looked a talent.

Now he’s come to England and shown he has talent and has broken into the set up.

The Leeds fans already love him!

He will be one to watch and hopefully Leeds can bring him in permanently before another side comes in for him!

ST: CHRIS WOOD

The free scoring striker has been vital for Leeds as they find themselves in the Play-Off spots.

Wood will need to be at his very best to make the difference against a resolute Brighton defence, but he can for sure do it if he’s at his best.

He will want to sink them that’s for sure, and show just how good he is.
