5 Aston Villa players who simply need to improve – Agreed?

Share

Life is not easy if you are an Aston Villa fan at the moment, especially if the landlord of the Transfer Tavern is also one of them!

Villa’s latest defeat came at the hands of newboys Watford, where they lost 3-2 at home thanks to goals from Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, as well as a Hutton own goal.

Indeed, it has not been a great start at Villa for Remy Garde. A promising 0-0 draw against Manchester City gave many hope, but back to back defeats to Everton and now Watford, also means they have shipped seven goals in two games.

It therefore looks like it could be another long season at Villa Park. However, with the new promoted teams playing pretty well, could this season be one too many for Aston Villa?

The following FIVE players will certainly have to up their game, if they are to survive the relegation drop once again…….

Micah Richards

While Richards scored on Saturday, his celebration was a little embarrassing.

Sure, it’s great to have passion, but considering you’re bottom of the league and have only equalised against a newly promoted side at home, you as the captain should be making sure Villa go for another.

Richards in my opinion is a very talented defender, but so far could have shown that a little more this season.

Scott Sinclair

Sinclair looks like he is still attempting to revive his career after his Man City days, but the former Swansea man needs to replicate the form he showed at the Liberty Stadium, if Villa are to get out of trouble.

Perhaps it is a confidence thing, but whatever the problem is, Sinclair should look to put things right sooner rather than later.

Jordan Veretout

Jordan Veretout

The French youngster is still learning his trade, but Veretout should arguably be showing a little more quality by now, considering that Villa did pay 8 million pounds for his services.

Perhaps under Garde’s guidance, Veretout will be able to find his way and fire the Villa out of danger, or he could be seen as a very costly waste of time.

Kieran Richardson

Kieran Richardson

An experienced player, Richardson should be using a bit more nous and know-how to make Villa a tighter unit at the back.

So far, the former Manchester United player has not been good enough this season, and could potentially find himself involved with another club involved in relegation, just like in his Fulham days.

Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish

Though I think Grealish has been treated a bit harshly, as after all he was only having fun, the youngster should look to improve on this setback by working his way back into Garde’s plans.

Grealish is a very talented individual, and hopefully Garde sees that quickly.

If Grealish comes back with a strong and level head, he could be the difference in turning Villa’s season around.
