Aston Villa fans here at the Tavern have had a terrible season so far to say the least. Languishing rock bottom of the table, with very little to cheer about all season, punters have been downing their pints in despair.
The Villans had a tough summer losing arguably their two best players in Chrisitan Benteke and Fabian Delph, who disgusted fans with his transfer U-Turn in order to join money men Manchester City.
Villa’s bad start to the season led to the early departure of Tim Sherwood as manager as he was replaced by Frenchman Remi Garde. The former Arsenal player has himself also had a tough start to the job as Villa are beginning to look cast adrift from the rest of the league.
The Midlands team have been an ever-present in the Premier League era but without a drastic change in form look to be relegated to the second tier for the first time since 1987.

Ashley Cole
Premier League veteran and former England international has been without a club since his release from AS Roma in the summer. The 3-time title winner comes with bundles of experience, although he is not the same player as he was in his prime at Arsenal and Chelsea.
The left back, capped over 100 times for his country did not enjoy a successful spell in Italy and has been linked with a move to the states to join his for England teammate Steven Gerrard at LA Galaxy. Cole would bring much needed experience to a Villa back four that has been leaking goals this season.
Emmanuel Adebayor
Enigmatic striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been without a club since his release from Tottenham Hotspur after an arduous transfer saga last summer. The Togoloese striker will feel as if he needs to prove himself yet again to English fans as Spurs portrayed him as an uninterested and finished striker.
Villa Park could be the ideal place for the former Arsenal striker to do this as they sit cast a drift with their own credibility to salvage. The unpredictable striker could be the man to fire in the goals that bring Villa closer to the rest of the pack.
He has proved in the past that he can be lethal in font of goal when on a good run of form and on a free transfer could prove a real bargain for the Villans.
Andros Townsend
24-year-old Tottenham winger Andros Townsend is currently out of favour at White Hart Lane after a dispute with coaching staff. The England international will therefore be looking for regular football during the next few months in order to warrant a place in their Euro 2016 squad this summer.
Villa will be able to offer him a starting berth in their misfiring team however he may not be willing to join team that looks almost certain of relegation on a permanent basis. Therefore, a loan may be their best option of signing the winger who when on form, is a major creative spark that can offer both goals and assists from a wide position.
Morgan Amalfitano
Morgan Amalfitano is another impressive free agent after the Frenchman had his contract cancelled at West Ham by mutual consent in October. The former Hammers and West Brom attacking midfielder was known for scoring vital goals during his time at both clubs and is the type of player that could reignite Villa’s dreadful season.
Amalfitano has been capped once by France and has played in the Champions League during his time at Marseille. The 30-year-old is an experienced player and will be fresh after not playing at all this season. Villa will be hoping to snap him up in order to aid them in their desperate battle against relegation.
Steven Naismith
Scottish international forward Steven Naismith has a challenge on his hand getting into the Everton starting eleven due to the remarkable form of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley amongst others. Therefore, the former Rangers man may be looking for a move in January in order to increase his playing time.
The forward can play up front or as an attacking midfielder and his hat trick against Chelsea earlier on in the season showcased exactly what he has to offer. The Scotsman is aggressive and always up for a battle making him an ideal acquisition for Villa as a battle for survival is exactly what they face.
