Our resident Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern simply cannot wait for the upcoming summer transfer window!
One rumour that has filtered into the Tavern is the news that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to hijack West Ham United’s alleged bid for Juventus and Argentina midfielder Roberto Pereyra, according to Tuesday’s print edition of Tuttosport via TMW.
The playmaker has been subject to plenty of interest from Premier League clubs following a difficult season in Serie A in which the 25-year-old has struggled for playing time, having made just 16 appearances in total last campaign.
It is understood that Juventus would be willing to accept a bid in the region of £15 million for the former River Plate man, as the Old Lady look to be chasing highly rated Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes as a potential replacement.
A move to White Hart Lane would be both a fantastic move for player and club: as Pereyra can look forward to Champions League Football next season, and Spurs can add strength in depth to their young midfield, something the Lily-whites lacked this past season.

Victor Wanyama
Kenyan Wanyama has been continually linked with a move away from St Marys’ over the past few seasons, with Tottenham’s London rivals Arsenal once leading the chase for the midfielder.
Pochettino will be looking to further rebuff his midfield this summer however, and has allegedly rejuvenated interest in securing the Southampton man’s signature.
Big, powerful and excellent at breaking up the play, Wanyama could offer Moussa Dembele a chance to move further forward.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
United? Arsenal? Malmo? Surprise, surprise, Spurs have supposedly joined the race to sign the enigmatic Swede who has been teasing everyone as he continues to keep rumours as to his future open.
While many back Ibra to rejoin his old boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, it could be Tottenham who shock the world and bring the former Barcelona striker to England according to Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Leroy Sane
Sane is on the radar of just about every big club in Europe following his terrific season with Schalke 04 in which the German international scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists for his team-mates.
The 20-year-old is versatile, and can play pretty much anywhere across the front line.
Dazzling with the ball at his feet, Sane excites almost every time he picks up the ball and could be a perfect addition to Spurs front line which lacks strength in depth.
Yannick Bolasie
5 goals and 3 assists this season for the DR Congo born forward, Bolasie whilst in the colours of Crystal Palace.
Now while those statistics may not read amazingly well, it is the winger’s mesmeric skill and blistering pace that has had people turning their head this season.
With Palace struggling, Bolasie could be open to move elsewhere, and the prospect of the Champions League could be a deal clincher for the 27-year-old showboat. (Exhibit A: Above)
Breel Embolo
Dubbed the new Didier Drogba by the landlord in the Tavern, Switzerland wonderkid Embolo has already attracted attention from a host of Europe’s top clubs.
The young striker – having scored 30 goals over the last two seasons for his current side Basel – could be the answer to finding Harry Kane a back-up striker at the Lane, following last summer’s flop signing Clinton N’Jie.
