Sunderland have had everything going for them recently and, therefore, the news that Bailey Wright could be out for the rest of the season seems like a big blow.
The Bristol City loanee wasted no time in making an impact at the Stadium of Light and judging by fan reaction to his injury it is clear that he has already impressed Black Cats’ fans. His absence could be of detriment to the north-east outfit, therefore, but some supporters are confident that he won’t be missed too much, and that’s because they have Alim Ozturk to call upon.
The Turkish defender spent a spell on the sidelines under Jack Ross and Phil Parkinson but has played a vital role since the latter introduced the 3-4-3 formation, only making way for Wright due to picking up a knock himself.
In total, the 27-year-old has helped Sunderland concede only 14 goals in the 17 league games he has played, with four clean sheets in his last five games showing he has the quality to help maintain the current impressive run of form.
