With the Premier League back this week, fans are excitedly wondering who their teams will start, and it looks like Arsenal defender David Luiz is ready to be selected by Arteta following his Instagram post.
The defender has featured a lot under Arteta, but fans might be worried about how match ready he is after his defensive error in a recent friendly against Brentford went viral. He has also been heavily criticised by the Gunners fan base in the past, after various poor games.
His post however possibly shows he is still trusted by the Gunners boss to start in the defence as it is a picture of him with the upcoming fixtures listed. Behind him in the image is the caption ‘We’re back’, whilst he supported the post with the emoji’s ‘💪🏻⚪️🔴’.

This may concern a section of Gunners’ supporters, who will have his error against the Bees firmly in their minds and may therefore be keen for him not to play when the campaign resumes.
Indeed, their first fixture is a very tough one as they face an away trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City, and the defence, which has only kept seven clean sheets this season, will have to be at their absolute best if they want to come away with a clean sheet when facing the likes of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

With Arteta being able to have something resembling a pre-season, as he had at least a month during the break to focus on how his team will work for the return of the Premier League, it will be very interesting to see what his starting eleven will be for the first fixture back.
Whether Luiz will be in it remains to be seen.
