One of our more sarcastic regulars notes that given his previous form, that could well be classed as spending £20 million!

It will be a lot more than £20 million however, with Wenger eyeing three players.

The Gunners manager is still getting over the horror purchase of Kim Kallstrom, who as we know did not exactly inspire confidence given he will be out for a considerable period of time.

Wenger is targeting not only the coveted Colombian forward Jackson Martinez, who is currently plying his trade in Portugal with Porto, but also the Bundesliga duo of Lars Bender and Lukasz Piszczek (pictured).

Over a game of pool and a cheeky shot or two, our punters note that these would be huge signings for Wenger. Not only would the trio of signings show some real intent, but they would also improve the squad tenfold.

The majority of our regulars in the tavern feel that the North London side are in need of a star forward and a couple of other players – but it is Bender that has been the most well received, with the German midfielder a real talent and someone we would love to see in the Premier League.
