Arsenal fans may have been celebrating their 1-0 win at Vicarage Road on Monday night, but at the same time as Unai Emery’s side was winning on the road, Freddie Ljungberg’s Arsenal U23s were busy beating their Chelsea counterparts. Strangely enough, 27-year-old Carl Jenkinson featured in that game and he scored the Gunners’ third.

Arsenal fans absolutely love the fact that Carl Jenkinson is still an Arsenal player after all these years even though he’s spent so long outside of the first team. The right-back has been called into action this season as Hector Bellerin suffered a season-ending injury against Chelsea, and with Jenkinson getting some game time, the fans weren’t too pleased seeing him in the Premier League 2.
Whilst Jenkinson is with the U23s, though, the fans will love the way he’s playing. The Englishman has featured seven times for their senior side this season and is yet to let them down in his short amount of time he’s spent on the pitch. Freddie Ljungberg is now reaping the rewards of Jenko’s form too, and the Gunners would love to see him step back up into the Premier League side with the seniors.

The Gunners wish that Emery would use Jenkinson ahead of their makeshift right-back Shkodran Mustafi but will just be pleased to see the 27-year-old playing for them at some level.
