Plenty of Aston Villa fans have reacted to some footage shared by former defender Carlos Cuellar on his last appearance for the club.
The 38-year-old spent four years at Villa Park and played a key part in the club’s Premier League campaigns between 2008 and 2012. Joining Villa from Scottish Premier League club Rangers, the Spaniard immediately made an impression in the Midlands and became an instant fan favourite.
Having made 121 league appearances for Villa, Cuellar called time on his spell at the club and, in doing so, revealed that it was “one of the saddest days of his life”. He would later go on to play for Sunderland, before leaving England and have multiple spells with a variety of clubs before calling time on his playing career last summer.
Looking back on his final Villa appearance via Twitter, the Madrid-born centre-back gained quite a reaction from fans via social media, revealing that he still gets emotional thinking about his exit.
