Aston Villa Dean Smith has ruled out bringing in a ‘raft of players’ in January after their poor start to the Premier League season according to the Birmingham Mail.

Villa are 17th, only out of the relegation zone due to their superior goal difference to Southampton.
They’ve won just one of their last eight league games, but face a crucial end to December, facing all three of the teams currently beneath them in the table.
Despite their poor form, a win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup this week would take them into the semi-finals of that competition.
After their promotion from the Championship, Villa brought in 12 players to their squad as they attempt to cement themselves as a Premier League side again.
However, with fears over their form leading to a prolonged relegation battle, fans aren’t so sure that the club should sit out the January transfer window.
Here’s how some of them reacted:
Wesley and progressing aren’t the combination that I’ve seen this season 🤨

Progressing? Looks like we’re going backwards to me

big mistake if we don’t sign someone

Striker and winger are a must, if not we’re in trouble

Sorry Dean. Getting better? I think not

Dean Smith should be sacked if he doesnt think we need competition up top. Norwich will survive on Pukki’s goals alone, Villa, Watford and Southampton will go down because none have a decent striker

We need at LEAST one striker🤦♂️

Announce relegation if that’s how we are going on in January. Need 4 players In my opinion. Hope this is smoke and mirrors to stop clubs hiking there prices up because they know we are desperate. 2 wingers 2 strikers for me. Sell Kodjia loan out Davis.
