Aston Villa: Fans discuss Alex Bruce verdict on avoiding relegation

Speaking to Football Insider, footballer Alex Bruce, son of former Aston Villa boss Steve, has delivered his verdict surrounding potential relegation – with the 35-year-old hoping that the Carabao Cup final loss can be the ‘kick up the backside‘ Villa need.

The Villans, who are currently languishing 19th in the Premier League table, have won just one out of their last five – losing three consecutive games since their 2-1 victory over Watford back in late January. Dean Smith’s side next travel to Leicester City in the hope of potentially turning their dire run of form around before it’s too late, with a trip to the Foxes looking like an uphill task if Villa hope to nick a result against all odds.

Even though Villa started last weekend sitting above the drop zone, various results meant that they have now dropped into the bottom three – with manager Smith potentially hoping for better luck this weekend. Responding to Bruce on his verdict, many Villa fans discussed what the ex-Hull City defender said on Twitter.
