Aston Villa fans need no reminder of how good Jack Grealish is. The youngster has proven to be one of the best players in the Championship with the way he adds goals and assists from midfield and dictates the tempo at Villa Park, Yesterday, though, the fans wanted to see even more from him as Gareth Southgate was in attendance.

There are no secrets around the fact that Southgate was watching Grealish yesterday, and the Villains delivered in front of their former player as they overcame Blackburn 2-1. Grealish will have been gutted not to have gotten on the scoresheet whilst auditioning in front of the England manager but he still put in a fine performance as he shone from midfield as the Villain’s skipper.
Whether or not Grealish is afforded a chance with his national team in the coming years is yet to be seen, but as far as the Aston Villa supporters are concerned, the young midfielder is more than good enough to be donning the shirt and featuring for the Three Lions. It could hinge on whether or not he makes it back to the Premier League, though, be it with Aston Villa or without them.
