Aston Villa boss Dean Smith’s latest comments on a new rule in the Premier League has got plenty of fans commenting on the change.
Smith’s side will return to league action on Wednesday evening when they face Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United.
With England’s top flight suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic since early March, Villa have been eagerly anticipating the return to see if they can force their way out of the bottom three. Sitting 19th in the Premier League as they approach the game against the Blades, Smith has been discussing a new rule allowing clubs to make five substitutions instead of three during games.

The rule which will last until the end of the 2019/20 season, has also been adopted across Europe with La Liga and the Bundesliga both utilising it.

Smith, who guided Villa to promotion from the Championship last term, touched on the rule during an interview with Villa TV, saying: “I wasn’t for it (five substitutes rule). I just believe we started the season with certain rules and now we have changed it. I suppose it helps the clubs with the bigger squads.”
His comments have now been shared by Twitter account @villareport, enticing these Aston Villa fans to give their opinion.
