Several Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter to a very poor statistic from their disappointing Premier League campaign.
According to BBC Sport (via @villareport), the Villans have conceded eight goals from corners this season, more than any other side. As well as that, they have also conceded nine headers, which is again more than any other side in the top flight.

Currently sitting in 18th heading into today’s game against Burnley, it is an area Smith surely needs to address if the Midlands club are to secure Premier League survival.
How the 48-year-old does that remains to be seen, though the transfer window could be a possible solution. Villa are said to be interested in Domagoj Vida (TRT Spor via Sport Witness), whose potential arrival would give Smith another option at the back.
Until then, the ex-Brentford boss will need to find a temporary fix for his side.
Take a look at what fans have been saying below…
Only 3% of corners end in a goal statistically. For us it’s about 99%

Doesn’t surprise me we look generally weak in the air never win many headers or first or second balls and when we do head it it always goes out of play or straight to the oppo.

Considering we defend with all 11 players in the box for set pieces and have some units in the team this is a dreadful stat

Literally every corner or cross we look like we will concede. It’s shocking, half way through the season

And here are some of our fans saying we don’t need defensive bolstering and saying no to world class Vida. Wow.

Is there a negative statistic we don’t own?
