Many Aston Villa fans have been discussing new footage in which manager Dean Smith commented on his side’s biggest downfall this season, which he feels is their lack of consistency.
The Claret and Blue sit 19th in the Premier League table as things stand, with their top-flight future very much hanging in the balance.
Smith guided the club to promotion to England’s top tier last term, winning the Championship play-off final by beating Derby County in the final at Wembley. However, poor form has since seen the 1982 European Cup winners immersed in a tense relegation battle.
With the Premier League season expected to be completed and relegations still expected to stand (as per Sky Sports), Smith will be hoping his side can find some regular form to ensure they get enough points to beat the drop. Speaking in a recent interview via Sky Sports’ The Football Show, the manager spoke about his biggest disappointment this term.

The only reason it’s a relegation battle is because Dean Smith is out of his depth. Sheffield United are pushing for European football having spent less than half of what we’ve spent but ayee first season back in the PL was always going to be relegation 🙄
