Plenty of Aston Villa fans have given their opinion on whether or not Scott Hogan should be given another chance at the club.
The 28-year-old striker arrived at Villa Park in January 2017 after impressing for a number of years with Brentford and he would feature regularly for the Villans during his first 18 months at the club. However, last summer the striker was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Dean Smith and a loan move to Stoke City was soon agreed.
After struggling to get in the starting XI at the bet365 stadium, Hogan returned to the Midlands during the winter transfer window before being allowed to join his parent club’s bitter rivals Birmingham City (as per BBC). Impressing in a blue shirt, Hogan has netted seven goals in nine games, but a permanent move to the club is unlikely.
Villa’s Premier League future is currently hanging in the balance as they lie 19th in the table, meaning they could be playing against the Blues next season if they fail to get out of the bottom three.
Transfer Tavern’s Ben Crump asked fans via Facebook group Aston Villa Fan Club: “What should we do with Scott Hogan?” – and below are just some of the responses…
Conor McGihon: Keep him if we go down
White Richard: Swap him for Jude Bellingham
Jamie Hancher: Medical testing?
Alex Kiszczuk: Furlough
Alan Curry: Send him to Darlo
Peter Calvert-Mindell: Keep him
Richard Gorringe: I need my garden doing
Anthony Nicholson: Either sell for £12m or we keep him
Gary AVFC Thompson: Get as much as we can for him
Harry Kells: Keep
