Aston Villa: Steven Gerrard’s striker comments prompt fan reaction - Aston Villa Transfer Rumours

Rangers’ boss Steven Gerrard has commented on the future of striker Alfredo Morelos, prompting many Aston Villa fans to respond.

Villa boss Dean Smith is seemingly desperate this summer to make some improvements to his side, having seen them struggle for consistency last term.

One particular area that the Midlands outfit need to look at is in attack with the likes of Wesley, Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis all struggling to find a regular goalscoring pattern.

A potential summer arrival is that of Morelos, who has been linked with a summer exit from the Scottish Premiership in favour of a move to Villa Park.

The 24-year-old Colombian joined Rangers back in 2017 and he has since gone on to become the club’s leading marksmen, netting an impressive 79 goals in 140 games.

Rangers boss Gerrard was speaking to Sky Sports as quoted by Birmingham Mail about the striker after he netted a brace against St. Mirren, suggesting that he “had his head turned” but that he is now back in the groove after the two held a private chat.

Reacting to Gerrard’s comments which were shared by Twitter account Aston Villa News, fans gave their opinion on whether they would want to sign the Colombian and it seems many aren’t keen. Indeed some pointed to his poor disciplinary record, he has had seven red cards whilst at Ibrox.

Do you think Morelos would be a good signing for Villa? Let us know in the comments section below…
