Our Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern really cannot wait to see their side kicking a Premier League ball about again in 2017/18.
The men from St. James’ Park had to come through a season in the Championship to get back to this point but they are now at least here and so the building work can begin.
Indeed, many eventually want to see Rafa Benitez and his Magpies challenge for trophies but little steps need to be taken now before they can start thinking properly about that.
And, as we wait to see what shape the second tier champions are in for the new campaign, they have released the news that one of their pre-season fixtures is going to be against League 1 side Bradford.
The Bantams, then, should provide quite the challenge with them in the League 1 play-off final last month and fans have certainly reacted to the news – scroll down to see the best:
