Brighton & Hove Albion have faced late interest in one of their most promising young attackers, with clubs continuing to circle as the transfer deadline approaches.
However, the Seagulls appear to have made a decision on Amario Cozier-Duberry’s future, with the winger now poised for an important next step in his development.
Cozier-Duberry Set for New Brighton Contract
Amario Cozier-Duberry is set to sign a new contract with Brighton before heading out on loan to the Championship, according to The Athletic.
The 21-year-old’s future had been uncertain this summer after Brighton rejected multiple approaches for his services, including bids worth around £7 million from Rangers and Belgian side Anderlecht.
Those offers have seemingly done little to change Brighton’s view of the former Arsenal youngster, who impressed during a loan spell at Bolton last season.
Cozier-Duberry scored nine goals and supplied 13 assists in 37 appearances as Steven Schumacher’s side secured promotion to the Championship.
His performances have earned plenty of praise, with former Blackburn Rovers boss John Eustace describing the winger as “outstanding”.
A number of Championship clubs are now interested in taking Cozier-Duberry on loan, with West Ham and Bolton previously linked with a move.
Brighton are understood to have reached an agreement over fresh terms with the player, despite his existing contract having two years remaining.
The Seagulls appear keen to retain control of his development rather than cash in immediately, with another productive Championship campaign potentially increasing both his importance to Brighton and his market value.
