Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are pleased that they’re going into the international break with three points on the board after their win over West Ham at the weekend.
The Magpies were beginning to see the critics swirl and there was a feeling that if the club did end up losing to the Hammers on Saturday, they’d really be in trouble.
That, though, did not happen and now they can focus on trying to improve the squad some more before the end of the transfer window later this week.
For sure, many feel that the club needs to bring players in but whilst we wait to see who arrives, it looks as though Grant Hanley could be on his way out.
The former Blackburn defender has not really had much luck in playing for the Magpies during his stay on Tyneside and it is pretty evident that he is well down the pecking order under Rafa Benitez.
Indeed, that could lead him to leaving before too long and, according to Lee Ryder on Twitter, it is Norwich who are interested in the player:

Landlord’s Verdict
Hanley just doesn’t seem good enough at the moment to represent Newcastle in the Premier League and so it would make sense for him to move on before the end of the window.
For sure, the Magpies will look to get some decent money for him and the fans will be hoping that gets reinvested also before Deadline Day.
