Despite earning three wins on the bounce, it wasn’t all good news for Leeds United, who were hit with some worrying injury news last night, followed by an even more troublesome update from Phil Hay this morning.
As the outfit arrived for their clash against Middlesbrough, it became clear that Jean-Kevin Augustin wasn’t with the squad. It was later revealed that the France youth international had picked up a slight hamstring injury, which has now ruled him out for Saturday’s clash with Hull City (via Phil Hay). He’s endured a tough time since joining the club in January, appearing in just three games in the Championship (via Transfermarkt) and is the latest Whites player to endure injury problems this season.
That means Tyler Roberts may be relied upon as the back-up centre-forward to Patrick Bamford and having missed a lot of games himself due to injuries this campaign, he is perhaps a fairly unreliable deputy. Fans were left bemoaning the injury as they took to Twitter to react after Hay shared the news. With that in mind, here are some of the tweets:

January window was a waste wasn’t it Phil

Typical Leeds. Phillips won’t play until his dreadlocks have grown another inch, and Big Kev injured jogging for his morning steak slice from Greggs.

JKA starting to look like a big waste if we go up
— Ricky Block (@richardblock24) February 27, 2020
Why oh why did we invest in this JKA??? So many other options that would give us an option off the bench. Another failed transfer window which if we do throw it away again will come back to bite the board. Just hope we can keep grinding out results 🙏🏻
