Aston Villa are expected to make a number of additions in the winter transfer window and it appears they could have been handed a huge boost.
The Villans are definitely short of options in defence and it is believed Dean Smith will look to address those concerns in January.
The Championship outfit have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu in recent weeks and it appears that they may have been handed some positive news.
The 18-year-old has struggled to get an opportunity under Maurizio Sarri so far this season and it is believed that the Italian could let him leave temporarily to get the regular football he needs.
The Verdict:
Should Chelsea allow Ampadu to leave in January, it will be a huge boost to Aston Villa’s transfer plans this winter.
The Villans will no doubt look to add at least one centre-back to their ranks and the Welshman would certainly be a solid addition.
With John Terry as the assistant manager and Tammy Abraham already at the club, Ampadu could find it relatively easy to settle in, although interest from Derby County and Frank Lampard could scupper the Villa Park outfit’s plans.
