Liverpool are bracing for another important summer as they look to reshape their squad following a campaign that has fallen short of expectations.
After heavy spending last year failed to fully deliver, the club are expected to be more measured this time around — focusing on value in the market or generating funds through player sales.
With several changes likely, it appears at least one member of the current squad may already be considering his future.
Curtis Jones “Not Happy” at Liverpool
Curtis Jones could be heading for the exit this summer after growing frustrated with his role at Anfield.
The 25-year-old — described as “fantastic” by reporter David Lynch — has struggled for consistent minutes under Arne Slot, often finding himself on the fringes of the starting XI despite occasional opportunities, such as his inclusion in the Merseyside derby.
According to Football Insider, interest in Jones is building across Europe, with several clubs having previously explored a move during the January window. That attention is expected to intensify if Liverpool signal a willingness to sell.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke suggested the midfielder’s situation could soon come to a head, stating: “He’s not happy being a fringe player at Liverpool at the moment, he wants to be more involved so he could look to move on.”
Jones’ contract situation also adds another layer of uncertainty, with time running down on his current deal and no clear resolution yet in place.
This feels like a crossroads moment for both player and club. Jones still has the talent to play a bigger role, but if Liverpool aren’t ready to offer that, a move could make sense for all parties.
Ultimately, it may come down to the fee — sell for the right price, and it could fund a key addition. Get it wrong, and Liverpool risk losing a homegrown player who still has plenty left to give.
